Why should cafe and restaurant owners consider outdoor heating?
Owners naturally want to develop a highly profitable customer portfolio. This is more difficult to achieve in colder months. Businesses creating a warm and cosy environment stand the best opportunity of making themselves the first choice for their customers. In this way both popularity and profit are increased.
We can clearly see that the concept of comfort in cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues has changed rapidly as a result of the pandemic. Customers have started to prefer environments where they feel safer and healthier. Their first choice would be for open or semi-open areas. This is where they would spend more time and more money.
You can make your business more attractive, welcoming and profitable by using infrared heaters to warm up open and semi-open areas. Of course, there are some points to consider when making your heating effective and efficient.
- Short wave infrared heaters are the most efficient heating method for open areas. Make sure you always choose short wave heating element bulbs.
- The origin and quality of production of both the bulbs and reflectors are very important. You can find seemingly similar, very cheap bulbs on Ebay and Amazon. Their performance is much lower and they tend to break down after a few months. Choose long-lasting quality bulbs that reach high surface temperatures.
- The heating reflector is crucial. Cheap, fake copies are generally built with thinner, low quality materials and have imprecise reflectors. Ensure you choose heaters with high reflectivity, polished aluminium reflectors that can withstand prolonged high temperatures.
- The installation must be safe and secure. Wall mounted heaters are safe for all sorts of customers, including children and pets. Check that the heaters come with wall mounting brackets.
- Your open space heater must be able to withstand severe weather conditions, in particular it must be rust resistant. Ensure that the paint or other coating on the product is weather proof.
- The most important factors are the ability to cope with rain and snow. Mark sure that your product has IP55 certification.
