 3. What are the estimated operating costs?

2000W (2kW) heater will cost 2 x 15p = 30p per hour to run.

3000W (3kW) heater will cost 3 x 15p = 45p per hour to run

4000W (4kW) heater will cost 4 x 15p = 60p per hour to run

For heaters with variable heat settings, the usage could be lower than the stated wattage (for example our 2000W SupraPlus has 5 levels of power settings, so on half power would only consume 1kWh of electricity, i.e. 15p per hour to run )

4.Why use Shortwave Technology in Outdoor Heating?

Shortwave Technology: Infrared rays are categorized according to their wavelengths. They are divided into three main categories: Short wave, Medium wave, and Long wave. Moving from Short wave to Long wave, the intensity of the rays per square metre increases. To emit Short wave radiation, the surface temperature has to be around 2,250°C whereas for the Medium wave 1,400°C and for the Long wave, 500°C is enough. The main difference between Short wave and other infrared ray wavelengths is the ability of the waves to pass through the air. With all infrared wavelengths there is some heat loss when traveling through air and it is much less for the Short wave. Laboratory research indicates that 90% of infrared rays emitted from a Short wave heater can successfully reach the target surface in this context. This percentage decreases to 60% when it comes to Medium wave and just 40% for Long wave. Considering the infrared efficiency, Short wave products are 40% more efficient compared to competitors.

5. Can I install Goldsun Heaters?

All 2000 Watt models come with a plug and require no electrical installation. You can install it yourself. But 3000 and 4000 Watt models require professional hard-wired installation. The parts to be used to install the product are provided in the box given to you. Please review the TECH SPEC & MANUALS section on the page of your preferred product and download the installation manual.

6. How do I control the heaters?

All PLUS models come with 5 heating levels with a remote control option and have on/off switches on the heater itself. Alternative control options are available for other models.

7. Are cheap products confusing you?

You may, indeed, find cheaper products on the market. These tend to be heaters with low stardards of heating efficiency and/or speed, produced with lower quality components and shorter life lamps. Goldsun heaters give you excellent heating performance (speed and efficiency), and the latest technology in safe and reliable products.

  • Lamps: Long Life Gold Coated, HeLeN (Dr.Fischer/Phillips EU Standart and Low Glare Options)
  • Reflector: High Quality Polished – Made in Germany
  • Body: Extruded anodised aluminium, in black/white finishes. Rustproof body parts.
  • Class: IP55 Weatherproof

8. What are your safety certificates?

All Goldsun heaters are CE Listed under KIWA Certification Services Inc. File 1903-ELE-002. All Goldsun fixtures are also certified IP 55 rated. Our heaters have been in production for 20 years and have passed appropriate durability, reliability and safety tests.
